Microinteractions are the small details that make an app or website feel alive. When you do something—like click a button or swipe a screen—the interface reacts with a tiny animation.
Purpose
- Clear Guidance: Tools like progress bars show users exactly where they are and what to do next, which helps them finish tasks without getting confused.
- Instant Feedback: When a button changes color or vibrates, it confirms that your click actually worked. This builds trust in the site.
- Better Engagement: Small animations (like a “Buy Now” button that pulses) grab attention and make the brand feel more alive and interesting.
- Brand Personality: These tiny details reflect a company’s style—whether that’s playful, professional, or high-tech—making the experience more memorable.
- Smooth Performance: Well-designed interactions make the site feel faster and more intuitive without slowing down the page.
Adding animation is something most modern websites have nowadays. Some animation examples I found are on Svgator website, which are good references to look into.
I try to incorporate mircrointeractions on my website for my sustainable theme project. With simple hover interactions for buttons and links.
