1.Kirby 64
Masahiro Sakurai 桜井 政博 is a Japanese video game director and game designer best known as the creator of the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series. One of the games he designed was Kirby 64.

Kirby 64 is an action-adventure 2D platformer game.
About the Game
Kirby must gather Crystal Shards and defeat the dark force known as Dark Matter, who is attempting to conquer Ripple Star and other planets. The game introduces a unique Copy Ability system where Kirby can combine different powers to create new abilities, helping him traverse the planet-hopping levels.
Thoughts
What I find interesting about Masahiro, is that when he created Kirby character design he just drew a simplistic round pink blob as a placeholder for a game protagonist and everyone liked how cute it was so he ended up keeping the design.
Masahirio designed such a simple and cute platformer. Over the years he made the game more complex and detailed in design but I enjoy the old school features that Kirby 64 has. Simple character design and colorful sceneries that take place in different planets.

The game I’m developing has a similar platform concept and dynamics. Its going to be level-based just like this game, instead of traveling to planets it’ll be to different graveyards. In Kirby, you are collecting stars in my game its collecting souls.
2. Hollow Knight
Team Cherry creator of Hollow Knight have three members on their team. Ari Gibson handled the game’s art and animation, while William Pellen was responsible for the overall game design and enemy/boss behavior. David Kazi served as the technical director, managing the game’s development and technical aspects.

Hollow Knight is a 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania and action-adventure game.
About Hollow Knight:
Players play as a nameless knight exploring the ruined insect kingdom of Hallownest to combat a supernatural infection. Players discover abilities, battle challenging bosses, collect currency (Geo), and acquire charms to customize their character and unlock new areas. The game features non-linear exploration, a haunting atmosphere, a cryptic story revealed through environmental details and dialogue, and multiple endings.
Thoughts

Team cherry inspiration for creating this was from Nintendo games like the legends of Zelda and Metroid .
I love the aesthetic to Hollow Knight, when designing the characters and environment to my Soul Eater game, I used Hollow Knight as a reference. I would like to find similar sound effects and tracks for my game. The mechanics of my game won’t be as advance as Hollow Knight but it’ll have similar aspects of running, jumping, and attacking.
3. Super Mario Bros.
Shigeru Miyamoto 宮本 茂 is a Japanese video game designer, producer and game director at Nintendo. Created many iconic games for Nintendo like the Legends of Zelda, Super Mario, Pikmin etc.
Miyamoto inspiration came from his childhood memories and how he love the feeling of adventure. Which is how he was able to create so many action-adventure games and even platformer games.

Super Mario Bros is a classic platform game.
About the Game:
It’s a simple concept of playing as Mario and traverse various environments, including above-ground levels, underground areas, and castles.
Thoughts
Super Mario Bros has the basic mechanics and dynamics of most platform games today. When creating my game I want to implement those basic features of making my character travel through above ground platforms, underground areas, in the air. Adding a point system similar to Mario where instead of coins it’ll be souls.
