Godot Engine

What is Godot?

Godot Engine is a free, open-source, cross-platform game engine for creating both 2D and 3D games.

After struggling with learning UNITY, I tried Godot which is a program that was recommended by my classmate in my Game Design class. It took me a moment to learn where all the tools are and how Godot work. But once I picked it up, I had fun experimenting and creating my 2D Game. Godot even ran well on my laptop which is a pro for me since I don’t own a PC.

Learning Godot

I found this video on YouTube to help me learn some of the features I’m trying to do for my 2D Game. I still have a lot to do and learn for my game but tutorials like this are very helpful.

Image above shows my progress in my game design, I was able to create my 2D platform easily with my assets. Now I just need to focus on the mechanics and being able to actually play the game.
