Designing a Game Menu

I’m trying to design a Game Menu for my Game Design class. I was trying to find inspiration and tutorials before I got started with my design. I found a couple videos on YouTube to help me get started.

The videos go through a step by step tutorial on how they design a menu using Adobe XD. Which I find very helpful since I’m going to use the same program as well.

Finding inspiration and references is a good way to start planning your game menu. I’m trying to find inspiration through games I played before. Here are some of the main menu screen from the games I enjoyed.

Every game menu is unique in their own style, it can be very simple, an animated scene or even interactive screen where you’re already playing as the character, etc. The buttons they mainly have in common is a way to begin playing the game whether its “Start”, “New Game”, Selecting a file etc. and an option or settings button for users to adjust sound, brightness, in game mechanics etc.
